Steps to Graduation

Follow the steps below to fulfill requirements prior to graduation. Remember to always follow the specific deadlines found on the OGAPS calendar. Note: You must maintain continuous registration until all degree requirements have been met.

Step	What to Do	When	Approved by
1	Follow the required steps and procedures mentioned in Steps to fulfill Master's Degree Requirements or Steps to Fulfill Doctoral Degree Requirements .
2	Apply for a degree online at the Howdy portal; pay graduation fee.	During the first week of final semester; see OGAPS calendar.	Advisory committee, department head and OGAPS
3	Officially schedule final examination or file the formal request for exemption from final exam.	Must be received by OGAPS at least 10 working days before exam date. (See OGAPS calendar for deadlines.)	Advisory committee, department head and OGAPS
4	Successfully complete final examination.	The Report of the Final Exam form should be submitted to OGAPS within 10 days following the exam date by the department.	Advisory committee and OGAPS
5	If required, upload one approved final copy of the thesis, dissertation, or record of study as a single pdf file to etd.tamu.edu and submit the fully signed Thesis Approval Form or Dissertation/Record of Study Approval Form	See OGAPS calendar for deadlines. 6	Graduation; arrange for cap and gown.
