Howdy Graduate & Professional Community!

Welcome back to a new semester at Texas A&M University; we hope spring 2024 has start off well for you.

One of the many Grad School priorities is professional development programming for graduate advisors and other staff involved in graduate education. On January 30, we held the Spring 2024 New Graduate Advisor Workshop. This annual workshop is designed to introduce new grad advisors to graduate education at the university, offer training on digital platforms used in processing graduate student documents, and provide an opportunity to network with other new and experienced advisors and the Grad School staff.

We offer additional programming for grad advisors throughout the semester. Through our Graduate Advisor Development Series, we host sessions focused on specific topics relevant to graduate education. In our next session on Tuesday, February 13, we will focus on Graduation Clearance. Topics for our future sessions (March 19 and April 23) will be announced soon.

On the topic of graduation clearance, that process is right around the corner. Students are required to meet a number of deadlines in order to graduate. The Graduate Records Processing Team works with grad advisors to ensure all students who apply for graduation have met requirements and to rectify any potential issues that may arise.

As a reminder, the Academic Requirements Completion System (ARCS) is now fully operational for all graduate students with an approved degree plan in the Document Processing Submission System (DPSS). ARCS is now the primary platform for graduate student document submission and approval system. Our Graduate Records Processing Team is always available to assist with questions regarding the system, and the Grad School regularly sends out “ARCS Tuesday Tips” to provide information on the platform and notifications regarding updates.

Lastly, several university offices are now hard at work putting together the 2024-2025 edition of the Graduate and Professional Catalog. Be on the lookout for any requests to make changes as the early-March deadline is fast approaching.

On behalf of the Graduate and Professional School, we hope that your Spring 2024 is positive and productive, and we’re always here to help.
