Request to Add Secondary Curriculum

This form should be completed when a student wishes to add a secondary Master’s Degree Program with the primary curriculum.
  • Permission from the primary program (and secondary program, if different) is required.
  • Students must completely fulfill requirements for both degrees and cannot double count courses or non-course requirements (e.g. residency, proposal, exams, etc.).
  • Following submission and processing through the Grad School, the student will be allowed to file both degree plans through DPSS.

FAQs

Does my whole committee have to sign the document? What if I don’t have a Degree Plan?

If you do not have a formal committee established by a Degree Plan, only the Department Head of both programs will need to sign. If you do have an established committee for your current program, they will need to sign in addition. The proposed committee for the secondary program does not need to sign.

Can a secondary curriculum change me from a 96 hour PhD program to a 64 hour PhD program?

Yes, if the PhD program approves. This option should be selected on the form.
