Overview

The Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) at Texas A&M University offers two distinct pathways designed to support students’ academic and professional goals. The MS Thesis option provides an immersive research experience that integrates advanced coursework with hands‑on laboratory training. Students work closely with faculty across the School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences while developing a strong foundation in biomedical research through one of four curricular training tracks aligned with the college’s major research areas. The MS Non‑Thesis option delivers a rigorous, science‑focused curriculum tailored for students preparing for professional programs in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and other health professions. With 30 credit hours of upper‑level science coursework, the non‑thesis pathway strengthens academic preparation, enhances science GPAs, and supports students as they remain engaged academically while preparing for professional school applications.
