Overview

The Ph.D. in Communication at Texas A&M University prepares scholars to advance research and theory in communication, media, and technology. With concentrations in Technology, Communication & Media (TCMT) or Humanities and Critical Cultural Studies, students examine how digital platforms, emerging technologies, media systems, and communication practices shape society, or pursue critical approaches to media, culture, and the social sciences. The program emphasizes rigorous methodological training, interdisciplinary inquiry, and close faculty mentorship to support original research in areas such as digital communication, media effects, technology and society, health, organizational, and political communication.
