Overview

The Master of Financial Management (MFM) at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School is a dynamic program designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the finance industry. The MFM offers four tailored tracks—General Finance, Commercial Banking, Professional Program in Accounting, and Trading, Risk and Investments—allowing students to customize their studies to align with their career goals.

The MFM General Finance track is a traditional post-graduation program and offers admission in fall, spring, and summer terms. The MFM General Finance is a traditional non-thesis post-baccalaureate masters degree. Students of any major at A&M or other universities may apply to start the program after earning their bachelors.

The Professional Program in Accounting (PPA) Finance is an integrated/accelerated 4+1 (5 year) program where selected accounting majors earn 2 degrees at 1 graduation.  The PPA-MFM is one variety in the PPA offering.

Commercial Banking Program (CBP) and the Trading, Risk & Investments Program (TRIP) can be thought of as a 4+1 pathway as each accepts A&M students only, usually in their junior year. Students can earn graduate credit (2 courses) while an undergrad. Students graduate with a bachelors and continue the specialized masters. Total time for students before they head to the workforce is 5-5.5+ years.

For current Texas A&M undergraduates, a flexible 4+1 pathway is available, enabling students to earn both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in just five years.
