Where is Aggieland?

Technically, Aggieland is the nickname for Bryan-College Station. However, we believe Aggieland is anywhere folks say “Howdy.” Where they share values of excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect and selfless service. And where diverse, driven people join together for a common cause: to make our world a better place.

Graduate and professional students may choose to live on or off campus. University apartments offer fully furnished options for students with or without families, and there are many attractive and affordable rentals for those who prefer to live off campus. Either way, you’ll soon find yourself at home in Bryan-College Station.

ON-CAMPUS HOUSING

The University Apartments offers 1-, 2- and 4-bedroom apartments for approximately 2,100 students, including students with families who want the benefits of living on campus but are looking for something different from traditional residence hall living. Some graduate and professional students live in The Gardens, which gives assignment priority to families and graduate, married, international and veteran students who are at least 21 years old.

While downtown Bryan and College Station offer plenty of entertainment opportunities, you don’t even have to leave campus to have an incredible time.

Texas A&M is home to the nationally-recognized George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, in addition to several other museums and art galleries. We also offer recreational and gameday activities at our renowned athletic facilities.

More than 1,200 public events are hosted through our university each year, including Broadway shows, concerts, ceremonies and athletic events.

The Memorial Student Center (MSC) hosts several dining facilities, meeting spaces, and a lounge complete with a baby grand piano. The MSC Town Hall also brings bands, comedians and other live entertainment to campus.

If you enjoy a good movie, Aggie Cinema hosts on-campus and virtual screenings of recently released films, as well as occasional free advance movie previews.

Most weekends, you can find an event to attend, celebrating everything from physics to athletics to our diverse cultures and heritages.

The Student Rec Center is a state-of-the-art facility with 400,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor recreation space. It contains cardiovascular equipment, free weights, group fitness classes and personal training options. The Rec Sports Program also hosts intramural sports teams and clubs like Outdoor Adventures.

You’ll find world-class performing arts at the Rudder Theatre Complex, where the Opera and Performing Arts Society hosts a range of entertainment, from Broadway musicals and modern jazz to operas and ballet.

The Wiley Lecture Series, the Jordan Institute and other campus initiatives also regularly sponsor appearances by nationally recognized speakers from many fields.

How to Get Around

Aggieland offers a variety of ways to get from one place to another. You can take Texas A&M or city buses, or you can purchase a parking permit and commute. There are plenty of cabs and ride-share services, and bikes are also a popular way to travel.

Both have been recognized for excellence and allow students to work with diverse and underserved populations. In addition to the Bryan-College Station campus, the College of Pharmacy facilities in Kingsville are located on the campus of Texas A&M University Kingsville, the oldest institute of higher education in south Texas. Founded in 1904 and named for Captain Richard King of the legendary King Ranch, Kingsville is home to nearly 30,000 people and is a vital part of Texas's growing gulf coast region.

In addition to the Bryan-College Station campus, the Texas A&M School of Public Health offers several degree programs at the new McAllen Higher Learning Center. Located in the 20th most populated city in Texas, the center was opened in the fall of 2018 to continue the university’s commitment to supporting the educational needs of Texas. Its top-tier educational programs will fulfill individual student career goals, enhance continued economic development of the region and help provide the necessary skilled workforce.

Texas A&M’s two branch campuses bring specialized degree programs to new areas. Texas A&M Galveston has a marine studies focus, while the Qatar campus specializes in engineering. 


TEXAS A&M GALVESTON

Texas A&M University at Galveston is the source for all things “ocean-oriented” at Texas A&M University. TAMUG offers a unique blend of marine and maritime programs, including majors in science, business, engineering, liberal arts and transportation.

Two doctoral and three master’s degree programs are offered at TAMUG. Graduate and professional students here may also choose to join the Texas A&M Maritime Academy and work toward licensing as a Third Mate Unlimited Oceans and Unlimited Tonnage in the U.S. Merchant Marine.

The curricula offered at Texas A&M at Qatar are identical to the ones offered at the main campus in Bryan-College Station. The reputation for excellence is the same, as is the commitment to training engineering leaders of character dedicated to the greater good, who are equipped to lead the next generation of engineering leaders throughout the world.

Texas A&M at Qatar offers two graduate degrees in chemical engineering: a Master of Science (M.S.) and a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.). In addition, Texas A&M at Qatar offers a full curriculum of undergraduate courses for four bachelor's degrees in engineering.
