School of Public Health, Interdepartmental Degree Programs

Texas A&M University - College Station

Program Quick Facts
The Department of Health Promotion and Community Health Sciences promotes healthy living and prepares students to identify the role of biological, behavioral, environmental, and social forces on population health. Our students will have the opportunity to apply these elements when planning and evaluating programs, services and policies designed to improve the health of individuals and communities. Our health promotion and community health students have opportunities to work in a broad and diverse range of organizations. Our students have worked locally, state-wide, nationally and internationally for non-profits, government agencies and corporations in jobs that promote and improve health.

The Master of Public Health (MPH) is a professional master's degree designed to provide practical training in areas related to public health practice. Along with coursework in health promotion and community health sciences, the MPH exposes candidates to the other core public health areas (biostatistics, epidemiology, health policy and management, and environmental health).

For degree curricula see Department of Health Promotion and Community Health Sciences.
