April 2021

Graduate school can bring exhausting times and stressful moments.  Having a getaway weekend adds new scenery and a break from thinking about degree pressures.

A short trip to a new city or a drive can bring a needed change and perspective.  There are plenty of cities in Texas that are within driving distance from College Station and offer plenty of activities. Spring is upon us, with the Texas bluebonnets and other wildflowers making their mark on Texas roadways. The roads going to Austin, Waco, Nacogdoches and Houston are alive with spring blooms. Getting out for a ride with friends can bring a needed change and a fresh perspective.

I find it hard not to think of all my responsibilities, but I push them to the back of my mind and focus on enjoying the moment. It is good for my soul, and I feel relaxed as I enjoy the day or weekend.

When I return home, I feel refreshed and realize this break was needed and plan to repeat days like today. I encourage you to take a getaway and enjoy the moment.
