Can I Obtain Alternative ELP Verification?
In some cases, departments may submit requests for alternative verification to the Graduate and Professional School. Departments must initiate alternative verification requests during the admissions process. Departments should make such requests only when they deem ELP documentation sufficient to merit alternative verification. The department should submit the Alternative Verification Request Form [attached], with an authorized departmental signature and supporting documentation attached, to the Graduate and Professional School. Please submit in person to the office or mail to our address. The student should provide the department with documentation to support alternative verification. The Graduate and Professional School will determine on a case-by-case basis whether to grant alternative verification. Examples of experiences and/or training that may justify alternative verification: 1. Completing a training program in English oral skills or courses at a university and/or institution other than Texas A&M University. Students must provide associated transcripts. 2. An international student holding a master’s degree, or completing all years of a bachelor's degree or higher, from an accredited institution located in the U.S. qualifies for alternative verification. Texas A&M requires an official transcript submitted to the Office of Admissions denoting the degree conferral date. [Bullet point 1 and 2 please]
