Who all needs to approve my degree plan?

The proposed degree plan must be submitted for review and approval through the online Document Processing Submission System (DPSS). Once submitted, the degree plan must be electronically approved through DPSS by the following:

  • Departmental Pre-Approver (usually a graduate advisor or coordinator).
  • Committee Chair (if there is no departmental pre-approver, this is the first step),
  • All Committee Members.
  • Department head or interdisciplinary degree program chair,
  • Graduate and Professional School.

Any reviewer throughout this process has the ability to return the degree plan to the student for editing and resubmission. For information about which status your document is in, please review the DPSS Status Guide.
