Posthumous Degrees

In some circumstances, a degree can be awarded posthumously at the committee chair and department’s request. Information about that process can be found in Student Rule 14.19.

The memo for the request should originate from the chair of the students advisory committee, route through the department head and the GOC Dean, and be addressed to the Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate and Professional School. Once the memo and support material is received by the Grad School, it will be sent to the Faculty Senate for their review and recommendation of approval. Upon approval, it is then forwarded to the President.
