THESIS & DISSERTATION SERVICES
Texas A&M’s Thesis and Dissertation Services provides you with the resources you need to successfully navigate the thesis or dissertation process, from pre-submission to clearance for graduation.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
To be eligible for admission to a graduate or professional program at Texas A&M University, or to receive graduate funding that carries teaching responsibilities, international applicants are required to demonstrate English language proficiency. Here, you’ll find all you need to know about confirming your English language competency.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Texas A&M University is committed to providing an educational and work climate that is conducive to the intellectual, personal, professional development of every member of our community. If a student feels unfairly treated or discriminated against by faculty, staff, or other students, there are formal and informal avenues for graduate and professional students to file appeals, report grievances, or request assistance with conflict resolution.
Ombuds
The Texas A&M University graduate Ombuds Officer serves as an informal, independent, neutral, and confidential resource for graduate and professional students, staff, faculty, and administrators to discuss questions and concerns related to graduate education.

The Graduate and Professional School does more than offer you the basic tools for attaining a graduate education. We also create and oversee training and mentoring programs to help graduate student teachers, researchers and future faculty reach the pinnacle of their abilities. TRAINING
Training resources aim to familiarize you with the proper procedures and requirements for success in the various duties related to your degree.
Teaching
TATEP is intended to improve undergraduate teaching, enhance the classroom experiences of Graduate Teaching Assistants (TA), and respond to the need for more systematic preparation and evaluation of TAs. For international TAs, it will supplement programs already in place to evaluate and promote English language competency.
Research
Texas A&M is committed to supporting responsible and ethical conduct of research and scholarship among its faculty, staff, and students. As such, the University follows federal, state, and university guidelines regarding Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR).
MENTORING
The Graduate and Professional School provides guidelines and development tools intended to be useful to all within the TAMU community who have mentoring roles related to graduate education. We understand the importance of mentor-mentee relationships and seek to support and recognize the contributions of mentoring relationships to high quality graduate and professional education. We work to support those roles and responsibilities while elevating the intended values and culture we hope to provide for graduate and professional students at our institutions.
Mentoring Framework
The graduate student-faculty relationship is one of the most iconic and long-term examples of mentoring. This relationship has long been integral to the assimilation, accommodation, and transformation of knowledge across all academic disciplines. The quality of this relationship has been found to be one of the most important determinants of graduate student satisfaction with the graduate school experience. Our Graduate Mentoring Framework provides the foundation for the values and culture surrounding graduate and professional student mentoring.
Doctoral Student Feedback and Profile System
The Doctoral Student Feedback and Profile System, built in partnership with Interfolio, offers a range of advantages to students, faculty members, and program administrators. Students will have greater access to all information related to degree progress and will receive regular, robust feedback from their doctoral advisor(s) and doctoral committee members.
