The Office of Graduate and Professional Studies extends hearty congratulations to Kara Bond, Academic Advisor III, Teaching, Learning, and Culture on her selection as the inaugural winner of the Excellence in Graduate Advising Award.

Kara received a plaque and a cash award of $500 at the University Advisors and Counselors Awards Breakfast on May 2, 2019.

The Excellence in Graduate Advising Award recognizes academic advisors who help to create and nurture an environment in which highly qualified, diverse graduate and professional students can thrive. Winners consistently demonstrate knowledge, care, empathy, and advocacy for graduate and professional students.

Kara proved exceptional in monitoring student progress toward academic and career goals. In addition, she exhibited mastery of institutional rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
