November Happenings in Grad Aggieland
Howdy {{Person-First}}!
When the calendar changes to November, we're in the home stretch of the semester. For most students this is the busiest time of the fall. It's no different for the Graduate and Professional School. Our November calendar features two major events to bring our community together in support of one another.
Our first event for the month is our Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) finals competition this Friday, November 3. Three Minute Thesis gives graduate students three minutes and just one slide to present a compelling oration of their research to a general audience. Each presentation is like mini research-focused TED Talk. It's a great way to learn about exciting research taking place on our campus. This year, ten finalists from ten different departments compete for $1,500 in prizes and the title of 2023 Texas A&M Three Minute Thesis champion. The winner will represent Texas A&M in the upcoming 3MT southern regional competition in Greenville, SC.
Later in the month, on Saturday, November 18, we are holding our annual Grad School Tailgate. Join your graduate community at Aggie Park for food, fun and fellowship before the Aggies take on Abilene Christian University at Kyle Field.
We hope to see you at these events. Best of luck the rest of this semester!
Thanks and Gig 'em!

Community Spotlight
Many of our students, as well as faculty and staff, attended the SACNAS Annual Conference from October 26-28 in Portland, Oregon. SACNAS's mission is to honor and increase the participation of Chicanos and Native Americans in STEM. Med School doctoral student Thien Phan won the award for "Outstanding Research Presentation."
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) preliminary competition took place on October 19 & 20 in the MSC. Forty students competed over two days for ten coveted spots in the finals. Congratulations to all those who competed and thanks to faculty and staff who volunteered to administer and serve as judges to make the prelims a success! For a list of competitors who advanced, see our story on the upcoming finals.
The Grad School completed the AdobeSign transition. All documents related to records processing will now be managed in the Academic Requirements Completion System (ARCS) or AdobeSign. Bye bye, DocuSign.
