The Season to Give teaser image
In reflecting on myself and looking for ways to improve, I stopped and wondered if others do the same. During this season, it is common to hear many point out their new year resolutions. For many, this means living a healthier life, working harder or giving more. Throughout the year, I think of ways to improve myself. Last year, I worked on reflecting and coaching myself throughout my studies. Although I may deviate from my goals, it is always good to have a plan.

For this upcoming year, I want to give more, not only during the holidays but throughout my life. As the eldest in my family with immigrant parents, I always had to ask questions to understand the public and higher education system better. This year, I want to work and help others in navigating their school system. I have previously worked with first-generation college students, helping them navigate the system and mentoring them. Now that I have a career and have successfully navigated the higher education system, I would like to help others who may not have all the support they need.

Giving brings me so much gratification because it helps others overcome hurdles. I would like you to think of ways you positively affect those around you. Giving may take many forms, from mentoring and coaching to a simple smile.

As you think about giving to others, I was hoping you could share what you have in mind to become a better person and make this world a better place. What are your goals, and how will you accomplish them?

In sharing with us, you will help bring ideas, and in doing so, the world would become a better place. We look forward to reading your goals. Please comment below.
