State of Graduate and Professional Education Address

The State of Graduate and Professional Education Address will update our community on the current state of Graduate and Professional Studies at Texas A&M, sharing some of the recent developments, challenges, and successes of our office, degree programs, and graduate and professional students, as well as our vision for the future. We will also announce the Montgomery Award recipient, exciting changes to the George W. Kunze Endowed Graduate Award, a new award generously provided by the family of longtime Senior Associate Vice President in the Office of the Vice President of Research, Carol J. Cantrell, and a dedication of the Diversity Excellence Fellowships to Texas A&M’s first Hispanic and Black doctoral degree earners, Dr. Dionel Avilés ’53 and Dr. James Johnson ’67.
2020 Distinguished Dissertation and George W. Kunze Endowed Graduate Student Awards Ceremony

In addition, the George W. Kunze Endowed Graduate Student Award will be given in the name of longtime Texas A&M Graduate Dean George W. Kunze to recognize one doctoral student’s outstanding scholarly work.

The U.S. Senator Phil Gramm Doctoral Fellowship was established to promote, encourage and reward outstanding teaching and research by doctoral students whose command of their respective disciplines exemplifies the meaning of scholarship and mentorship in the highest sense. This year, Graduate & Professional Studies will be honoring seven exceptional graduate student recipients of the Gramm Doctoral Fellowship.
